KING D LAYONE is the brother of THE CAT, a former gangster as respected as he was feared, whose disappearance left a void and an impossible reputation to match. After his death, KING founded Ghetto Zoo with his lifelong friends LA CRÈME and T-BLACK, then moved into burglaries and pickpocketing.

Yet behind the small-time gangster trying to impress his neighborhood, he already dreams much bigger. He watches major crime boss ALPHA SQUAL’s rise with admiration and a touch of jealousy, eager to learn the rules at the top.

Torn between following in his brother’s footsteps and building an empire of his own, he dreams of turning his gang into a major criminal organization—even if, for now, his kingdom consists mostly of one neighborhood, a few questionable schemes and a great deal of ambition.
